As my about page says, I suck at fashion. Real bad. Not that I wear rags or anything, I just don’t enjoy talking about it because one day I could be wearing an oversized headbanger tee and go for a dress the next. So I’m not gonna tell you where you should shop because you’ll just question my taste and I cba. What I will tell you is that on Great George Street, by the Causeway Bay underground, you will find everything from H&M to Prada and Bottega Veneta, including tech shops selling cheap-ish cameras and an array of beauty and make-up stores.
Because I’m a geek however I will point out that the area also features a huge HMV not unlike the ones you could find everywhere in London a few years ago without having to venture into Oxford Street. The difference is that they include… uhm… Interesting options. Like this.
Just putting this here.
The international Michelin-starred dim sum spot is your best bet for a great lunch that doesn’t break the bank. Steamed pork buns at Din Tai Fung are only HKD$60 and they’re yummy as hell. So is the $16 mushroom veggie bun.

I confess: I, too, bent down to matcha madness with Via Tokyo’s soft serve swirl of vanilla and matcha ice cream ($32). After a walk through the busy Causeway Bay shops though, you will have to forgive me. Nothing says pick-me-up like a huge, healthy-ish ice cream.
Address: Shop 1A & 1B, G/F, Lei Shun Court, 106-126 Leighton Road Causeway Bay
Artisanal ice lolly makers I See I See are available on Uber Eats and in their cute little Tai Hang shop. Best flavour ever? Hands down, the Earl Grey and Pistachio ($42).
